Surely it doesn't make any sense?

What would Spurs get from overpaying for a player from Man City? It's not like MC are buying anyone from Spurs any time soon, is it?

Only time it might is if teams are swapping players and there are different amortisation shenanigans or whatever. But other than that can't see why it would happen?
