You are part of a fans' group, a group that has better lines of comms with the club than most. Your membership gets you an equal voice within the group. They also do good community stuff.
OR
It is a hobby horse for gobs**tes like Robin Sainty. The club pay only lip service to the claimed relationship - see Membership and River Endrelocation. They are more interested in niche projects rather than dealing with geniuine fan-concerns
