And FIFA didn't say that was wrong. Guess they were too busy pandering to Trump.
But I agree it clearly isn't mistaken identity, it's a wrong decision.
Mistaken identity shouldn't need the ref to go to the monitor just change the booking.
That said I'm not against using VAR in the moment to review dives. Should help reduce them.
