Hello Spix,

thanks firstly for your opinions regarding players we should be targetting.

The major factor affecting the lack of any new signings to date has been the availability of all the parties required to make a deal happen.

One or more of the players, agents, managers and chairmen involved has often been away, either on holiday, at the World Cup or has simply moved on from their previous Club for whatever reason.

Some clubs also prefer to wait until nearer the start of the season before deciding which of their players they may be willing to let go permanently or on loan. If one or more of the players we have targetted happens to be at a club which adopts this policy, this will have an impact on the negotiation time required.

The Chief Executive, the Club Secretary and other relevant NCFC staff continue to actively work to bring the players the Manager has identified as our targets to the Club - what we won't do is rush out and make a signing of a player who is not really a target just to appease the frustrations some fans are feeling about the lack of activity. However, there is activity and it's on-going - as soon as there is any news to report, we will do so on canaries.co.uk.
