There was a delicious scenario which sadly cannot now happen
where, if Brentford were safe in 6th before their last game they may want to throw the game.
They go to Liverpool on the final day and if Liverpool and Villa were jostling for fourth, and a Liverpool win pushes Villa down to fifth, it would unlock 6th as a Champions League spot (as long as Villa win the Europa League).
So throw the game and get in the Champions League 😄
