I can just about understand people voting Green at a local level
or tactically, if they particularly dislike a possible alternative. But the idea of the Greens (of Polanski) anywhere near a position of genuine political responsibility on a national (& therefore international) scale is beyond absurd. Either people simply don't know, or they've completely given up trying to understand, just how difficult it is to run a country - any country, let alone one of the largest economies in the world, member of nato, the security council etc etc. To do it properly takes huge amounts of intelligence, understanding, energy, experience, judgment, eloquence, courage +++. You can't just sort of pick it up from watching a few vids on youtube. The idea that some bloke best known for being a dodgy hypnotherapist and having done a bit of prancing on the x factor could just turn his hand to it is simply ridiculous. That some people apparently think, even for a moment, that he could do it well, or even half well, is actually quite frightening.
