And I object to the " Betis are everyone's second team" from your mate... was that ever really true, or just the Joaquin effect? These days it's Real Sociedad that come up in the polls as second favourite for Spaniards. Betis are just… Betis. Loud and stupid. ;)

On your friend called Rocio, it is indeed a very common name in Andalusia. Coincidentally one of the main hospitals is named after the Virgin Rocio, so maybe her mum working there.

I'm working in London these days, but still have a small Spanish group of friends in Norwich. Some reason us Spanish have always been attracted to the city.
