Press news in...
Good afternoon all! Philippe Clement is here early as per usual.
----------------------------------------------------------------
PC on this week: "There is not one team or individual in the world that is always successful; you have to come out stronger from that. I saw my team give everything to get a result, and they are focused on what they can do better."
PC: "We looked to see if we could have done anything different in the game or before the game. I don't want to talk about referees, I just want to focus on us."
PC confirms he has had a conversation with the head of the refereeing department, who agreed with his views post-match.
PC on set-pieces: "Not good enough for the moment (attacking). The club lost last year people with good deliveries; we need to make the current individuals better at that. We are looking at all those things, like the runs and blocks. This is one of the hardest leagues to score from set-pieces, as it can be like a rugby match sometimes."
*Ben Chrisene will miss the trip to Bristol. He is off to see a consultant on Monday, with surgery expected on a shoulder injury.*
*Lucien Mahovo is expected back in training next week.*
*Jovon Makama and Papa Diallo are both back on the grass*
*Another setback for Gabriel Forsyth, who is back on the crutches. NCFC are working with the best specialists to get him the best help.*
*Jeff Schlupp will be in the matchday squad tomorrow*
*There are two plans. But if the season finishes without playoffs, the players will have a few weeks off and then come back into training for a period, where they will be given pre-season plans.*
PC confirms he will sit with the analysts tomorrow. Stephan Van Der Heyden, Ryan Garry and Nick Stanley will jointly take charge.
PC: "This is my first touchline ban ever, that's why this is so frustrating. It's not what I wanted, and it was not deserved."
PC on Roy Hodgson: "It's exceptional, he's had three games, and he's got seven points from nine, with one goal conceded. Huge respect for his career and what he's done now. My wife hopes I will do different things (at his age)."
PC on Hodgson's career: "It was never my plan to go outside of Belgium (coaching), but the snowball becomes bigger and bigger, and you follow your gut along the way. I've been lucky with the opportunities I've had until now. I love this life, and I have lots of passion for it."
PC: "We are ambitious, and we want to win every game. We need to make the right decisions about squad building for next season. I need to find the balance between winning games and giving opportunities to players who deserve it."
--------------------------------------------------------------
That's all from Philippe Clement at Colney this lunchtime. He needs to quickly change his clothes and get on the coach, which departs at 2pm.
