Which soon conveyed the scale of the tragedy at Hillsborough. Yes we lost (on balance right result), but was sort of glad Everton played Liverpool in that final instead of us. Seemed appropriate.

And the Everton fans had radios as well. They all knew what was going on despite media reports saying they didn't. Much worse for them. At that time I only lived 30 minutes west of Villa Park so was home by 6.00pm to see it all over the Telly. Weird day - not a good one at all.
