They realised that they were now 20th in the favouritism rankings and their opponents would get the decisions that they’d got used to in their ‘unexpectedly good season’. I’d be very surprised if they didn’t have the same experience again, and much like Burnley found, defending well in the EFL doesn’t often translate, especially when those referees have better offers…
I’d actually not be surprised if the gnome didn’t get kicked into the pond over the summer.
Also I’m quite glad we won’t be playing them next season.
