I always thought Kvistgaarden looked more dangerous when coming on as a sub rather than
starting, and I think some of that is psychological as he already knows he will get pulled at half time or on 60 either by design or if he hasn't scored. His expressions really show he is frustrated and putting pressure on himself to score.
If he comes on as a sub, he knows he's got the rest of the game and perhaps he handles that better.
