Today wasn't the first time Rooney tested a ref
This isn't cast iron, but it is worth talking about
Against Equador in the last minute, a tackle happened, and the Equadorians didn't like it. Whilst they were angry with the ref for not sorting it, Rooney was on the scene, and he went towards the moodiest player and ruffled his hair to wind him up further, and said player reacted
The ref knowing it was the last minute, ran away from the incident and blow for the free kick to be taken. He didn't want the angro of booking or even sending Rooney off, he just wanted to get the game going
That incident doesn't touch what Rooney did today, but it showed that in the heat, Rooney's already flashpoint tempriment is a problem
