Obviously I'm disappointed, but today hurt less than previous eliminations

TV pundits were quick to use the familiar term "heroic" once again and yes the players did graft and did care. But personally I'm finding this elimination a lot easier to deal with than all of the others. On previous occasions we've ben terribly unlucky: but throughout this comp we've been somewhere-approaching-rubbish and our players have underperformed badly.

I wouldn't want to be Eriksson though: he must know, deep down in his soul, that he's woefully f**ked that up. Picked the wrong squad, picked the wrong shape and sat and watched while it didn't work. I can only guess that the several million quid he's pocketed while failing to make a set of players like ours into a meaningful threat.

We deserved very little today. Makes the pill less bitter.

But Ronaldo............ that's scum, that is. Rooney looked shocked, and as he gave him what was a gentle shove he plaintively called him "Ronny". I doubt he'll call him by a pet name again.

Ah well, hey ho, bring on Plymouth and Colchester.
