This is how I feel

Good signings, bad signings are sort of secondary here because he's not the chap going out and trying to find a winger, but making decisions based on those who do, so it's a longer chain. And we're now playing well with some of the signings who weren't, so we know the change that has brought that about. For example, presumably he was supporting things like Slimane going in the summer - why should he now take credit for Slimane coming good?

But the managerial appointments, and the way they were (or weren't terminated) are where the scrutiny still lies for me, and it did feel like there was a major step in from above for Clement's appointment, and Manning's departure.

Think I've said before, he's still learning, albeit on a nice salary, but I don't think we all need to go and curtsey just yet, because what I see is someone doing their job better than they did previously but beyond that, let's wait and see.
