THis is the series that has highlighted what the post Anderson/Broad period will

most likely be like.

We've been spoiled for a long time having those two around, we've forgotten what an English attack that contains only 'very good' bowlers looks like.
Archer is the only one above that category, but hasn't had someone to either pose a threat, or have some control, at the other end.

The batting is the batting, people are acting like this this is the first time England have struggled to make runs in Australia. A lot of the scores we are making in this series are some of the highest we've made at the respective grounds in the last 5 series.

It just not the case that this series is consistently the worst we've been.

We've all seen england sides in Australia go out and try and occupy the crease, manage that for about 30 minutes each before nicking off with their first attacking stroke and making 11 from 50 balls.

As APB says, that approach just means we lose on day 4 or 5, it by no way guarantees extra runs.

We've watched Aus play with intent for decades and always used that as a tool to beat england with when we lose, we need to be more aggressive!
Now we are, it doesn't always work.
