really? haven't noticed that much

seems to be following the usual pattern to me - quite a few open games in the first round (although less surprises than normal) - then things get cagier once you get to the knockout bit.

But big difference is that all the good teams won their group and are going thru to the QFs, apart from France. So of the 7 big games to come (4Qfs, 2 Sfs and final), 6 will be between two potential winners. Is gonna be f*cking excellent.
