Yeah all good points

The real elephant in the room is a failure to reform the benefits system, which is out of control.
The insanity is this will get even more out of control as child benefits get relaxed.
So essentially you have a scenario where the contributors are asked to contribute more, whilst many who contribute nothing or little get a pay rise.
The cliff edge points in the tax system are in desperate need for reform and I cannot understand why this has not taken place.
Many people I know limit earnings to just under £100k as it just isn’t worth going over.
These people would contribute far more in tax if they felt it was worth earning more.
