Thought the ref initially gave the “easy” decision
Which was handball outside the box – no biggie and would result in a free kick. But VAR gets involved and makes the decision more difficult as offence is actually inside the box.
Which then involves all the VAR protocols of checking natural positions of hands.
So both decisions were “correct” but VAR means that the inside the box version takes priority.
PS I don’t like VAR at all but we’re stuck with it now.
