MA is giving Knapper full control of sporting matters with zero oversight

That's fine and I can understand it from his perspective and current knowledge of football, he is trusting his staff to do the roles without interference from his side. But my question is why would you appoint someone who's never done that role before and has no track record of success in it.

Just seems like if you want someone to run the football side of things completely on their own they should have at least done the same job elsewhere.

The leap from a loan manager to running a football club (sporting side) must be massive. Just think it either needs a CEO (McNally type) with an inexperienced sporting director or you appoint an experienced sporting director who's done the job elsewhere.

All the mistakes made by Knapper so far point to a lack of experience in the role, so it really beggars belief that he was given the role with no checks and balances in place from an experienced CEO/technical director overseeing things.
