FFS, give the guy a break here

If he announces that the club will press on with the stadium plans, he’s out of touch with the fans. If he announces the club will postpone it after conversations with the fans, he’s a weak leader. He can’t win.

He has observed that it’s a decision that means a lot to the fans and has chosen to make amends for the bad decision by postponing and having a proper consultation process. Admitting that you are wrong isn’t weak leadership - after all, it’s what we’re all wanting Knapper to do.
