Suggy's quiz & punk

Just been dipping into your quiz - won some, lost some ... I must say, a very eclectic record collection if that's representative. Guns 'n' Roses though?

Where did that list of "punk" songs posted earlier come from anyway?

For what it's worth, here's my top three, although to choose three is ridiculous:
1. Anarchy in the UK: for it's extraordinary impact and the classic line "don't know what I want, but I know how to get it"
2. Heard it Through the Grapevine - The Slits: simply the best cover version ever. Bar none. More reggae than punk; but that's how things were back then - it wasn't all three chord thrashing you know
3. Safety Pin Stuck in my Heart - Patrik Fitzgerald: so many to choose from ... But, the sub-title "a love song for punk" swings it.

No, I'm going to make it a top five - three's just not enough ... Neither is five, of course, but like a punk song, it should be short and sweet
4. Wasted Life - Stiff Little Fingers: the reality of growing up in Northern Ireland surrounded by terrorists AND the British army ("Stuff their f**king armies/killing isn't my idea of fun")
5. Where's Bill Grundy Now - TV Personalities: a tribute to the drunken old fool who made the mistake of trying to take the piss out of the Sex Pistols on live TV ...
