He has nothing. No presence. No edge. No oomph. No sense of anything different or special

Nothing. He's just another ten-a-penny bog standard coach who'll mouth platitudes and jargon at press conferences... and the players' eyes probably glazed over long ago.

The squad? Bang average at best, with a terrifying lack of goal threat which could very well relegate us. That's on Knapper, of course. But it's also on the increasingly obvious reality that recruitment is always a gamble in our case. We're too far out of the way geographically, higher profile players and managers therefore aren't interested... and Brexit, because of work permit rules, has made it a lot harder than it already was.

It can't be that both Stuart Webber AND Ben Knapper are idiots. It's bigger than that. Just as it also can't be that none of Mark Attanasio, Delia Smith or Robert Chase had any real "ambition". It's bigger than that too. It's about who we are and geographically, where we are if you ask me.

It's such a problem that four seasons ago, we spent ONE HUNDRED AND TWENTY MILLION POUNDS in order to stink the joint out and embarrass ourselves on a weekly basis in the 'World's Greatest League'. The best players and managers just will not come to Norwich - and we end up wasting crazy amounts of money on utterly risible s**te very, very often.

Does Attanasio understand English football? I've no idea. What are his motivations? Making a profit while spending not all that much, I assume. Does Manning have the first clue? Like hell he does - get rid at once. But even if we get the next appointment right, even if we change sporting directors too, we'll probably just be straight back here a season or two from now.

It's where we are in the modern food chain, sadly. No parachute payments and no owner spending like there's no tomorrow; no party.
