Why do people think he claims to be?

I've never heard anyone say he is. I get he's not for everyone and his mannerisms can be annoying but he's easily avoided if you don't like him.

Every time we get mention of TNC or of either Chris or Jack Reeve we get a comment like this - I think it reflects more on the poster than Chris himself.
