Pm Ghost ship belly..
They may well walk on the main road (past yellow storage) but they don't walk on the pedestrian road (actual carrow road) directly behind the Barclay.
Most end up heading to station by crossing over using the pedestrian crossing.
My point (which I shall make once more) is the extra difficulty that the new away end creates for the police when escorting a large number of ipswich fans from the station BEFORE the game. How do they achieve the same funnelling that the current corner away end provides?
Unless they create a 'supporter highway' through the south stand car park and down Geoffrey Whatling way the convoy
of ipswich fans will need escorting directly past the back of the Jarrold stand OR down the aforementioned pedestrian Carrow Road which goes directly at the back of the Barclay and city stand (as you know)
That particular route literally takes in the whole footprint of the stadium and on a tense afternoon is obviously silly. Imagine if they walk the 1500 ipswich fans past the Barclay, past the Geoffrey Whatling stand and past the busy shop corner...!!?
I'm not opposed to the changes because changes are positive but the current away end works perfectly for funnelling away fans into Carrow Road pre match and IMHO should probably be left as the away end for the foreseeable future.
Who wants a load of Ipswich, Leeds or Millwall loons in the river end anyhow??
That's...right no one.
