John's Not Mad and the follow ups
I am not sure the first was intended to be the comedy classic that it became, especially to my teenage version, but John clearly embraced it as in the two follow-ups, while still addressing the serious topic, he definitely intentionally contributed to the comedy. I suppose on the one hand it feels bad to laugh at it, but on the other hand I would say that it was one of the most successful series of documentaries ever in terms of achieving awareness. I mean, whoever had heard of Tourettes before those docs?!!
Some absolute classic scenes though:
Slapping his mum at the supermarket
The car scene with the rear view mirror
"Arthur Daley!"
Telling his dog to cross the road just as a truck is coming (dog looks at him like "you trying to f**king kill me?" and thankfully disobeys.
and of course the tragic but still hilarious moment he cannot keep the C word from coming out as hard as he tries. Don't think I had ever heard that word on the telly before that!
