Amazing that the Attanasio group gave such a key role of Sporting Director

To someone who had never done it before. It's the most important role at the club for me and they really should've been looking to replace Webber with someone who had a track record elsewhere of success.

All the problems of the last two seasons start from Knapper. His appointment of JHT was a disaster, first it was going to be a long term project to build a team up and then it switched to we need to get top 6 by the end of the season. These targets should've been set at the beginning of last season so JHT knew what the aims were.

JHT was also not able to bring in his own coaches and had Knappers mate Wilshere put in as his assistant which would've completely undermined the head coach.

And this summer Knapper and Manning failed to get on the same page in terms of the type of system they would be playing and what players were needed to fit it.
