There is a "nice" restaurant just reopened called Fizzbuzz.com in St Andrews Hill which is supposed to be nice but I think that will be too pricey for 8.

I also like the res at the top of Walnut Tree Shades.
The owner can be arsey, just ignore him however everyone else does.
