Given he's in the last year of his contract Nunez's carrying value on the books is very low, so nearly all of the fee increases the amount we are allowed to spend on new players (let's not forget it's PSR rules, not the wealth/intention of the owners that limits what we can spend), money we would not have if he runs down his contract and leaves for nothing. The latter being doubly bad if he wants to leave, because in that case you really don't want him around the place.
Maybe it isn't ideal, but at the end of the day I care about Norwich, I don't give a s**t about Ipswich. A deal that's a good deal for City (or at least considerably better than all the realistic alternatives) is a good deal to me.
