Manning the pragmatist?

A lot was made of this after his appointment.

It seems to mean he's happy for us to hit long balls when pressed. Great.

Seems like he isn't willing to compromise his shape or base formation though. Not very pragmatic.

Obviously exacerbated by Knapper somehow not recruiting for the positions needed for that base shape and formation. Namely wingbacks and inside forwards.
