Well

1. Formation isn’t working. Not very well at all. I mean it might work later, but it really isn’t working now.
2. Signings still don’t make any sense if we’re going to play this formation. They just don’t. Should have spent all that money on WBs with pace, stamina and real attacking threat. We’ve got FBs who aren’t that good at attacking and wingers who aren’t that good at defending. I really don’t get it. Did nobody talk to anyone else in the close season?
3. Diallo looks like a find. Not obvious any of the other attacking players do. Of the others Chris Goreham has shown most promise and he ain’t getting many minutes.
4. We can’t play Wright and Topic together. Too similar, and in tandem both look likely to cough up the ball in very dangerous positions.
5. Wright doesn’t look ready to play a leading role. I know he’s young, but fact is he’s been poor the whole time he’s been on the pitch. Looks to me like teams are targeting him with the press.
6. I reckon most of us on here can see what, at least on the face of it, looks like a much better formation to deploy the talent in this squad in than what the manager seems determined to play. So 3/5 at the back had better start working better than this soon.
7. This is all sounding pretty negative. What about those two away wins? Well true, but we were very lucky to escape with a win at Portsmouth, and I’m not putting too much weight on the win against Watford reserves.
8. Guess we just have to wait and hope it all starts to click.
