This is an extremely simple concept, one that I think even you will understand.

Smoking weed in and of itself does not make the chances of using harder drugs more likely, however ...

Using any illegal drug increases the chances of using other illegal drugs, and crucially, spending any time at all in the presence of drug dealers greatly increases the chances of using harder drugs.

It's the thick ones, very often, that get in trouble, so really, I'd start worrying now if I were you.
