I get the impression

They saw what Farke did with us, and how other parachute clubs have bounced back and assumed it would be foregorn / easy.

I think Farke is a better manager than theirs and exceptional at managing the personalities through the transitions (look at what he did in our middle year back and at Leeds). McKenna may have those skills, but he'll need to learn quick - maybe he was more of a Lambert?

The other clubs that have yoyo'd have often been more established prem sides in the recent past and that gives them greater resources (and a longer standing structure) than the club's that have pinged up with a rich owner and then immediately dropped down again. (see Cardiff).

Champs is tough and they may well click and find their vibe again. It's just not easy.

Likewise with us, it'll all be down to how well the new players (and in our case manager) gel. Promising signs last night - hopefully we can have a bit of a cup run and give the second string a chance to impress - there's places available in the starting 11 and even the nailed on starters we have are injury prone, so we'll need an engaged squad and rotation to cope with the long season.

Interesting nonetheless

(oh, and Hutchinson is no Emi imo - but surprised he's so highly rated... Tho the lack of bids might suggest he's jumped the gun)
