Clueless, pathetic, panicky, shambolic, lucky, no-hopers

All describe England pretty well tonight.

On the evidence so far we have zero chance.

We will repeat the well-trodeen path of England teams of losing in the quarter-finals to the first half decent team we play.

In fact, the only reason we keep getting to QFs is because the seeding system gives us an easy passage through. If we had been in a difficult group we'd have been out.

Only one tiny bit of hope - we were equally s**t in Italia 90 until the semi-final, when we were unlucky to lose on pens.
