diagnosed with stage 2 (early) dementia at age 55, likely caused by heading the ball. Has been active in trying to get former players to take the test for dementia.
With all the money in the game more needs to be done to support retired players with dementia particularly those who have played outside the premier league and did not earn vast sums.
