which is totally incompatible with reducing net migration to tens of thousands (all politicians of every party would LOVE to do this if they could because it would be massively popular) . Farage has never been responsible for running anything, so he is currently free to spout his populist nonsense. But if he ever actually got into a position of power he'd find himself in the same position as the Tories. Like the Tories you'd get a bit of performative cruelty to please the baying base but the net numbers would still be very high.
