It's broader than that though isn't it?

Post referendum we had the 2017 GE where labour won 262 seats. 149 leave, 113 remain. Traditional labour "red wall" voted leave. London and Scotland Remain. Traditional working class labour voters are nationalist proletariat while London Guardian types are globalist and bourgeoisie. Labour is transforming itself (has transformed itself?) into the party for Bourgeoisie globalists not the nationalist proletariate.

The consequences of that are that the working class aren't going to vote Labour - they are going to vote reform - as evidenced by the local elections and polls.

I don't really fancy Farage as PM so would prefer Labour to adopt a strategy that led to them winning. Not a strategy that markedly diminishes their standing amongst the voters that are critical to any potential election victory.

If Guardian readers transform Labour into a party that represents them and them only, to what extent can they complain about the traditional working class feeling betrayed and voting Reform? To what extent would they be responsible for Farage's victory?
