I was excited after last week's game

It felt like Wilshere had engendered a more dynamic and solid style of play.

This game was a big step back. We were slow at moving the ball forward and very open and exposed at the back.

Yes, it is a meaningless end of season game (which we won), but I was hoping the team would put on the type of performance that would make Wilshere an obvious favorite for the role.

They didn't do that.
