That's just maranoia, it's natural.
Don't forget to try and get electrolytes topped up in the days before as well.
I ran Manchester a couple of years ago, it's a great event and a good course. Mostly flat but there is a sizeable hill at around mile 16 in Altringham. There are a couple of bridges to contend with in the next few miles that feel harder than they ought to as well.
General advice, go out of easy, easier than easy if possible. You can work your way in to the run using the first 10km to warm up but going out fast is a recipe for a long, hard day (when it is already hard) and start your fuelling early enough, don't leave it until half way before having your first gel. I think they have SIS gels on the course too which are pretty good.
If you need a walk break, or to stretch, don't feel bad for stopping running. It's a long old slog so whatever it takes to get to the finish is fine. Mostly, enjoy it. The crowds are awesome the whole way around and there was a great atmosphere with the people I met on the run.
Best of luck, hope it is a great experience for you.

- Cheers Steve - yes, I had read about maranoia so suspected that may be at play. (General Chat) - NxNW, Apr 24, 09:22:32
