Johannes Hoff Thorup will address the media at 13:30pm ahead of #NCFC's home clash against #SAFC tomorrow night đź”°

JHT on Matej Jurasek: “He is still feeling some pain, so it requires more patience with how we treat him. The scan actually looked okay. He’s a little bit exhausted and fatigued after travelling from another country to here and getting used to things.”

JHT on Matej Jurasek: “We are not there yet where we completely shut down his season.”

JHT on Lucien Mahovo: “He couldn’t train. He felt something in his quad, so we need to scan him. He will be out for a little while.”

JHT on Lucien Mahovo: “Originally, it was the knee. This is a different issue.”

JHT: "Liam Gibbs will be in the match day squad. We are down to 15-16 players available tomorrow, so we need him in the squad even if we don’t use him. We will also have some U21 players with us.”

JHT on Plymouth: “I was not satisfied with the two goals we conceded and even more so when I watched it back. Lots of people will say fix this, but it’s hard to train for this. As is it the moment when we give the throw in away or when we don’t clear it.”

JHT: “We have scored more than 60 goals this season, but only three from corner kicks. We need to be better, as this should be close to 20. This isn’t down to Nick (Stanley). We have also conceded too many goals to be competitive.”

JHT: “Are you up for a game here? If I say to you, if we win the Championship in three years time but up until then it would be up and down. Would you take it? Because sometimes when you change a lot, that will take some time.”

JHT: “I will always try to tell the story as honest as possible to the fans that travel and support the team. Hopefully, soon we will succeed a bit more.”

JHT: “When you are low on numbers, there is not time to make many adjustments. You have to select the players who are fit and ready. No matter which players perform tomorrow, we have to take some off ahead of Friday (Burnley).

JHT on Jacob Wright: “I will give you as much to say it’s better than if he said the opposite. The coach likes the player and the player likes the coach. That puts us in a strong position at the end of the season.”

*JHT says they are close to finalising the NCFC out of contract players and who will be here next season*

JHT on the summer: “Yeah. I think that’s a good point (signing Championship experience). We lost to a team that made 100 passes on Saturday. This league has lots of different teams that play different ways. We definitely look at the Championship and who will be available.”

JHT on Sunderland: “We can learn from them. The time and patience it takes. They’ve been a good team all season and can compete with the best in the league, so well done.”

JHT on Borja Sainz: “You don’t want to put too much attention to it (Sunderland spitting incident). He has shown that he has learnt from it. It’s just another game in the Championship when we have to be at our maximum.”

JHT on the week ahead: “Nothing tells me we cannot compete with them. It will be an even game tomorrow. It will be about who takes their chances and defends better. Nothing tells me we can’t put in a good performance and get a win.”
