We spend the proceeds (of S+S, Gunn would be on a free) wisely
and revel in the warm feeling of our improved signings who now have a season or at least part of one under their belt, while further new signings swiftly bed in.
Disappointing as this season has been we're really, really not far off a side very capable of pushing hard at chumps level.
How many of those could also do a job in the Prem? Not so very many in truth, and I hope we'd spend better than scum did if we did go up next term but suspect we'd need to yo-yo a few times before a) becoming established as one of the new Perennial Drain Circlers like Everton and Wolves, or b) failing to bounce back a couple of years on the trot and end up where we were at the start of this season all over again.
Alternatively, that bloke off the Facebook group could take over and we'd win the Champions League within a few weeks, it's all so easy and obvious and only idiots could not make that happen. Apparently.
