It will always be down to player/squad quality.

Looking at one half of football or any one game is pretty meaningless.

The squad quality looks to be geared towards attack.

We want our CBs to be passing midfielders...we want our FBs to come inside rather than defend wide areas.
We have recruited mostly lightweight midfielders.
Going forward we look great at times but we ship goals for fun because of both player quality (players who are better at attacking than defending)

As a club who sells attacking players for vast sums it's probably better to score loads and concede loads rather than a more pragmatic Burnley type style.
