Agree, Been Thinking That As Well...

If thats the case, so be it. Its a tired old mantra, but I don't want the club to do a Leeds, or even a Ispwich in an effort to guarantee success.

When Munby and Worthy were talking about their "five year plan" a few weeks ago,I thought that they were working along the lines of it might take more than one season to be in a position to get promoted again, and I haven't changed my thoughts on that at all.

Deano was a huge, huge financial outlay for us, but at least one which more or less (barring injury) guarantees us a good return on the investment, the thing being, when do, or when will, we have to look for that return. Like most of us, I suspect January, even if we are in the top two or thereabouts by then. Indeed, that would be the preferred case, as, if we were mid-table, we couldn't expect as much for him as we could if we were top, second.

It would have been nice to have spent some money on a couple of quality players as Sunderland have just done so this time last year-but, even then, promotion, bonuses, and the new stand etc took a lot of money. Contrary to splashing out (and we'll never sign the Sidwells of this world until we go up again) therefore, I forsee a lot of caution over the next season or so, and, if no promotion next season, no panic either, as I don;t think the club have that goal, at least financially, set in stone.
