It's style, isn't it? Their hoofball, rely on set pieces, style is designed to reduce the amount of actual football in a gamer and negate teams with better players. That's why they did better in the Prem where everyone else has better players, while Burnley's passing style floundered. But in the Champs parachute payments should mean they are one of the teams with better players, so their style effectively negates their own supposed advantage. They're just another bunch of cloggers.
This is the eternal problem - the style that has the best chance of getting you promoted also has the least chance of keeping you up in the Prem. But it is almost impossible to completely change styles (and playing staff) successfully between seasons.
