Still think it might be the late Phil Hoadley. What I do know....

thanks to the book 'Glorious Canaries' is that Hoadley joined City on 16th Aug 1978. If so, that photo was taken between 16th & 22nd Aug that year as on 23rd Aug Colin Suggett who is pictured (fantastic player) left to join Newcastle.

So it's feasible that it might be Hoadley. Definitely not Neil Davids as left in '76 and agree that Neil Townsend is almost certainly work of fiction and not referenced in any of my books about NCFC.
