Zidane
Pants suggests he shouldn't be playing. I was thinking the same and thought a 4-4-2 with Henry and Trezeguet would be better. Vieira and Makelele in the middle.
However, when the older guys had retired, France were in serious danger of not qualifying at all. When they came back they strolled to qualification (or strolled through the remaining fixtures compared to previous form).
So, not sure on that one. Or perhaps Makelele's return was the one that made the difference ? He was one of the few to look good last night.
