I don’t understand the handball laws anymore

But in real time looked a definitely pen. The ball travelled a very long way before it hit him, didn’t deflect off anyone just before contact, and his arm was way off to the side. Like I said…that’s a penalty…isn’t it? Unless someone can explain it to me.
