hard to define though...
ask an England fan and they'd say Italia 90 was great for English football. By making football fashionable though it brought Sky and the money men in and enabled the big clubs to pile up huge mega-incomes that made it almost impossible for clubs like us to compete at the top level any more. It also enabled clubs to inflate prices and thus price out the lower paid portion of society. Was that good or bad? Life is rarely that black-and-white.
