1. The US & Britain didnt take democracy to Iran
it already existed.

2. The democratic government threatened to nationalise the oil industry in Iran (BP was mainly owned by HMG. hence HMG.'s interest in preventing the nationalisation).

3. What does Amnesty International say about human rights in Iran since 1980 (post Shah)?

4. Nicking of oil - the validity of that phrase depends on your viewpoint. Some may regard the payment of roylaties for oil extracted or the buying of oil as a fair transaction and hence cant be described as nicked.

5. '?1.5 million dollars' do you mean sterling (?) or do you mean US $'s ?

6. There is considerable concern not just from the US and the UK but France, Germany, Russia and China regarding Iran's nuclear processes if it results in the development of nuclear weapons.

I suspect the argument goes that Israel, Pakistan and India are stable countries and can be relied upon about the security of their nuclear weapons,
whereas there's not the same confidence about Iran.

7. The UK didn't go into Vietnam with the US so you cant assume that we are the US's poodle.
