I think the psychological effect of the handballed goal has to be considered, too ...
It was only 5 minutes earlier - I suspect that was still going through the England players' minds.
That said, Maradona scored 2 very similar goals against Belgium in the semis - no fluke, once he was on the ball it was very, very hard to get him off it.
My favourite ever World Cup goal is Carlos Alberto v Italy. I hate people who bang on about Brazil and the Beautiful Game but it really is something ...
