Defencive holding midifield players of the past and present include
Edu
Makelele
Essien
Gilberto
Roy Keane adapted to this when he was older
As did Guillit (both great players to do it)
Even Brazil have defensive midfielders (Dunga!!!)
Not England though, oh no! England are going to win it with a possession losing attacking formation aren't they?
